This year we embraced the new tv channel of La Nación to expand our audience reach. We pushed the limits by making cross-platform reporting: print, digital (desktop, tablet and mobile) and broadcast tv coverages.
Members of La Nación’s Data team exposed the data driven stories on La Nación Más, a cable and satellite tv channel that was launched in november of 2016. Our tv segments included visualizations and infographics that were presented on a full HD display with touch control.
Some of our best results:
–Nisman app: After two years of listening, analysing and classifying, and the participation of more than 120 volunteers, we created an app that contains detailed information about the people involved in the former prosecutor Nisman’s accusation including their biographies, topics of conversation and timestamps of the most important parts inside the conversations.
–The use of data for simulation. Interactive government credit, PROCEAR simulator
–Keys for understanding Trump’s immigrant ban. Figures explaining the number of refugees living in United Stated, their nationalities, religious beliefs, and the countries affected by the policy.
–Organized protests and pickets held in argentina over the past 8 years. The amount of public demonstrations which result in the blocking of roads or streets divided by months and group of activists.
–Immigrants and crime: What do the figures tell us? Explaining the amount of immigrants living in Argentina and their relationship with crime.
–Monintoring the electricity generation in a country facing severe energy crisis.
