El árbol genealógico de Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin es una de las grandes bandas de rock de todos los tiempos y enumerar los motivos llevaría más de un post… Fue la unión de cuatro fuerzas en una química irrepetible que explotó en canciones y discos que poseen un atributo fundamental: no se oxidan con el tiempo… Recientemente se ha editado en la Argentina, a través de Music Brokers, un singular álbum doble DVD/CD sobre la banda… 
El DVD, titulado Dazed & Confused (dirigido por Sonia Anderson, una especialista en documentales de rock para TV), propone un repaso de una hora sobre la historia de Zeppelin, a la manera de los documentales televisivos… Si bien el resultado es algo agridulce (faltan testimonios de otros músicos e inexplicablemente se omite mencionar a los álbumes que siguieron a Physical Graffiti), puede servir como ligero panorama para las generaciones que no están muy adentradas en lo que significó Led Zeppelin para el rock… Luego de la muerte del baterista, John Bonham, el documental vuela hasta hechos más recientes… Como el Unplugged que protagonizaron Page y Plant en los 90, y sobre el que John Paul Jones muestra una mezcla de resentimiento e indiferencia… O la reunión de 2007 con Jason Bonham, el hijo de John, en la batería… Nada deslumbrante, tan solo un repaso para reafirmar que el rock no sería lo que hoy es si no hubiera existido Zeppelin…
El CD, Family Tree, es un compilado de contribuciones que los integrantes de Led Zeppelin hicieron para otros artistas, aunque es un poco confuso el criterio de selección… Hay varios temas del primer disco de Screamin’ Lord Such, un personaje de la movida del rock británico, que cumplió su sueño de grabar con amigos de la talla de Page, Bonham, Noel Redding y Nicky Hopkins… Esto es tal vez lo más peculiar… El resto, colaboraciones de Jones con el guitarrista inglés Albert Lee (alguna vez, parte de la banda de Eric Clapton); canciones de los Yardbirds con Page; un tributo a Elmore James del Brujo junto a Clapton… Pero también hay (bajo un confuso criterio de selección) temas de Blind Willie Johnson, Chris Farlowe, Eddie Cochran, Leadbelly y la banda heavy Great White… En fin, es necesario hurgar fino para sacar en limpio material que nos reconforte…

Ojalá lean esto. Los temas que aparecen en este album, no son colaboraciones, es de cuando Page tocaba con yardbirds. El otro error que hay es sobre los temas de Blind Willie, esa es música que le sirviò de inspiración a la banda, sobre todo Page y Plant por su forma de cantar blusera.

You lost me, buddy. I mean, I suppose I get what youre indicating. I understand what you’re saying, but you just appear to have ignored that you’ll find some other folks in the world who view this matter for what it really is and may perhaps not agree with you. You may well be turning away a lot of folks who may have been supporters of your blog site.
