En otras especies primates, en cambio, había más libre mercado. Entre los chimpancés, por ejemplo, una furiosa poligamia hacía que la competencia evolutiva la libraran los espermatozoides dentro del cuerpo de la hembra, y así fue que los machos ganadores fueron los de testículos más grandes. Por eso son tan boludos los chimpancés.
En nuestra especie, parece que la mujer era menos esclava que entre los gorilas y menos cualquier-bondi-me-lleva-bien que las chimpancés. Elegía –como hace hasta el día de hoy– y lo hacía con el criterio del placer. Sólo pudieron sobrevivir nuestros antepasados bien dotados, de quienes recibimos este voluminoso legado. Incluso hay quien dice que nos hicimos bípedos para poder mostrarla. En idioma científico:

Si alguna vez viste la de un caballo, chancho -o la del famoso burro- serías menos pretencioso con el titulo del post. La proporción tamaño/tamaño -a no ser el de 33cm y habría que ver- nos supera ampliamente. Ahí quedo “impotente” la teoría.

Pero en realidad los chimpancés también viven en harenes, la diferencia es que las hembras les meten unos cuernos bastante considerables, mientras que entre los gorilas, las consecuencias de una “discusión” con un espalda plateada disuaden a los pretendientes.
