Día de la Tierra: generar conciencia y pasarla bien
Más de mil millones de personas en 190 países se preparan para celebrar el Día de la Tierra, organizado por Earth Day Network, en su 40º aniversario. Este evento tiene como objetivo generar nuevas formas de combatir el cambio climático y construir una economía verde a nivel global, promoviendo el manejo responsable de los recursos naturales, la educación ambiental y la ciudadanía sustentable. En Estados Unidos, país de origen de la iniciativa, participarán artistas como Sting y Seal, el director de cine James Cameron y el reverendo Jesse Jackson.
Este video promociona un especial de 3 horas del documental Planeta Tierra que
saldra el 22 de abril, Día Mundial de la Tierra en Discovery en Español.
El 24 de abril Argentina se sumará a la celebración mundial del 40 aniversario de El Día de la Tierra, con un festival “verde” en la Plaza Naciones Unidas (ver mapa de ubicación abajo) entre las 12 y las 23 horas. Este encuentro, que en el mundo se festeja desde 1970, es una plataforma de lanzamiento para la acción ambiental positiva. Buenos Aires también lo celebrará a través de la música, cine, talleres, teatro y actividades al aire libre.
El evento también contará con espacios para todo el público: los niños podrán disfrutar de “Generación Verde”, un parque de diversiones con actividades educativas sobre medio ambiente, malabares, juegos, talleres y workshops; habrá un sector de exhibición y tienda con productos sustentables diseñados por artistas locales y extranjeros; y un segmento de “Vida Verde” en el que se podrá practicar yoga, tai-chi y meditación. En esta oportunidad además se presentará el proyecto “Green Pecha Kucha”, en el que se expondrán ideas y se reflexionará acerca de planes y diseños verdes e inspiradores. Los visitantes además podrán disfrutar de un área gastronómica de alimentos orgánicos. La entrada es libre y gratuita.

No creo que sea casualidad que el 22 de abril, Día de la Tierra, sea también la fecha de nacimiento de Vladimir Lenin, un acólito de Karl Marx. El ambientalismo se ha construido sobre bases establecidas para controlar la vida de todos, limitando nuestras opciones y nuestra libertad.
La Tierra no exige un código moral de comportamiento personal. De hecho, la lección que enseña es la supervivencia del más apto y una indiferencia ante el sufrimiento. Los fenómenos naturales implican el riesgo de pérdida significativa de vidas y perjuicio de todo tipo.
La Tierra es un lugar hermoso, pero es completamente despiadado, no sabe de amigos, no escucha nuestros rezos ni respeta la vida. Atiende sus necesidades y mata sin piedad, sin pedir permiso ni disculpas.
La Tierra cambia permanentemente porque evoluciona y busca sus equilibrios. No existe la naturaleza agresiva o la venganza de la Tierra o la Tierra enojada. Es alucinar pensar que pone un grado emocional en sus manifestaciones naturales, solo estamos trasladando nuestro cotidiano accionar a la conducta de nuestro Planeta.
Estamos en manos de la Tierra, no es la Tierra la que está en nuestras manos, basta un mísero escalofrío de este ser que nos cobija para que seamos una civilización más perdida entre los escombros. En esto nada influye la conducta humana, la culpabilidad de la especie humana siempre ha sido un argumento para tratar de dominarla.
Es lamentable que la humanidad se deje guiar por ideas que la mantienen en un bajo nivel de comprensión de la realidad. No hay nada más equivocado (o con segundas intenciones) que hablar de la insostenibilidad del desarrollo, las especulaciones sobre el futuro hay que hacerlas con la tecnología del futuro. Adán y Eva disponían de menos recursos que nosotros.
Por supuesto no falta la justicia climática, un movimiento que promueve el “decrecimiento selectivo”, la “redistribución de la riqueza” y “transferencia de tecnología hacia los países en desarrollo”.

Also, these movies allow us as a group to vicariously punish the offenders that have made victims of our women. Usually we are able to sacrifice these deviants in the most satisfying fashion as slugs from the protagonists pistol put the offender down for good. I think sex-crime movies in the procedural category that Neal King spoke of can offer us valuable insights into what people want to see in their films. But the most powerful or helpful sex crime movies are not the ones that offer up a gross characterization of a rapist from whom the audience can easily and safely distance themselves. The good ones are the ones that ask the audience the big questions about their subject matter. Films like Happiness that ask if we can ever really know whose house our children are sleeping at, or films like The Accused or A History of Violence (here Im thinking of the staircase scene) that ask where we draw the line on what actually constitutes a sex crime.
